In this photo look for the lights in the walls. Also, if you see the dot in the upper left hand side, that is a light fixture attached to the house. In this project, the patio was lit up both in the walls, and also by mounting lights up high. One feature of this lighting job that can not be seen, are the well lights installed in the woods, that gives a wall effect at night.

These next photo's are typical of a lighting project. The seating area is lit up with lights mounted under the lip of the wall caps; the walkway to the lower doors are lit up by lights mounted under the deck; the water feature is also lit up by lights mounted under the deck; the wooded area is lit up by well lights buried in the ground outside the living space, and the deck and stairs are lit up by lights mounted on the railings.

These 2 photos show how the foliage on the trees are lit up in the wooded area, also shows how the water feature lights up. Also look back behind the stairs and see how the walkway is bright. You don't need to put path lights along a walk to get it to light up.

In the following pictures, the lighting for this job was installed so that all the lights can be on at the same time, or have just the wall lights on or just the carriage lights. With the carriage lights lit, it allows for easy roaming but lets the entire neighborhood see you. With the amount and type of entertaining they do, this was ideal. For the evenings with family or friends, the wall lights are perfect.
